Visited the home of Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce CEO Duvi Honig to discuss the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and efforts to mitigate it and assist civilians caught in the crossfire.

Congressman Smith, a lifelong fighter for human rights and against tyranny, expressed his deep gratitude to the Chamber for its extensive efforts in Ukraine, and particularly for the evacuation fleet it has established in the country.

"Thank you for the great work you're doing on behalf of Ukrainians - not just for the refugees who make it out, but for those who are suffering each and every day inside Ukraine," Rep. Smith told Duvi Honig. "You have set a great standard of humanitarianism with your buses and ambulances, and I'm very grateful for your involvement."

"I think the world needs to do more not just to get people out, but to create humanitarian corridors to allow food and medicine to reach the people who need them," he added.

On Behalf of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce Executive Board and it’s Chairman Duvi thanked the congressman for his words and expressed hope that they could work collaboratively to further humanitarian assistance in Ukraine.

" We look forward working together with you to help get more humanitarian assistance from the U.S. government sent to those people on the ground helping people every day," Honig told Rep. Smith. "We are all working together for the same cause. But the need is endless, and despite our fleet of buses and ambulances, innumerable people are suffering and they need our help now.
