NJEDA President Tim Sullivan Addressed Mayors & Community Leaders At Lakewood NJ Stand Theater For A Pre NJ Economic Development Day Summit

 

The Pre NJ Economic Development Day Summit at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ on February 29 was a significant event that brought together leaders from various Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Organizations from New Jersey

 

. The summit was a collaborative effort between the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, aimed at discussing and collaborating on New Jersey's economic development initiatives.

The event commenced with networking and a gourmet breakfast sponsored by Four Corner Bagels, providing an opportunity for participants to engage in roundtable discussions and introductions with Mayors and Economic Development leaders from throughout New Jersey and New York. The presence of Mayors, presidents of Chambers of Commerce, and other business and community leaders created a platform for meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas.

One of the pivotal moments of the summit was the opening remarks delivered by Tim Sullivan, CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). Sullivan shared new opportunities in New Jersey, including the prospects of the state hosting the movie industry and FIFA events. Additionally, he introduced the concept of declaring annual NJ Economic Development Day every second Monday of May. This vision was aimed at promoting economic development and facilitating a conducive environment for growth in New Jersey.

Tom Bracken, President of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, also shared his perspective on the broad reach and impact of the newly designated Economic DevDay on the state's economy. Furthermore, Duvi Honig, the President of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce (OJCC), introduced the legislation and spoke about the vision of NJ Economic Development Day. He announced a partnership with Ocean County to host a Jersey Shore Conference & Expo on May 13, aligning with the NJ Economic Development Day 2024. Duvi encouraged all Mayors, counties, and Chambers of Commerce to embrace hosting events in their communities on this day. He also announced the launch of a new website, NJEDD.ORG, which will act as a bulletin board for all New Jersey residents to find events taking place throughout the state on Economic Development Day.

Tim Crouch, Chief Strategic Officer of CHOOSE NJ, emphasized the importance of innovation and building bridges across communities, while Ocean County Commissioner Frank Sadeghi spoke about the collaborative efforts within the county to stimulate economic development. He presented a proclamation to Duvi, acknowledging his outstanding work as the Founder and CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce.
