Orthodox Jewish Chamber Announces NYC World Trade Week Gala Featuring (EAC) U.S. CBP Acting Commissioner Leading Trump's Tariff Policy


The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce  is proud to host World Trade Week NYC is in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs and the U.S. Government. The event will welcome ambassadors, trade ministers, consul generals, state and government officials from the Port Authority, and leaders in global trade.
 
This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with leaders in the world of Trade  from the U.S. and around the globe, discuss key trends, and explore potential collaborations.

Set to take place on May 22nd from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in Times Square New York City at the Historic General Society Library, this prestigious event will serve as the grand finale of World Trade Week, underscoring the resolve to bolster international trade relations.

 


We are excited to feature Susan S. Thomas, the U.S. Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade in Washington, D.C. She is responsible for designing and implementing U.S. tariff policies for the Trump Administration. Attendees will gain insights into the new tariffs and have the opportunity to share suggestions for improvement.
 
Korean Air is set to receive the Global Investment Impact Award during World Trade Week NYC 2025, recognizing its $32 billion contribution to the U.S. economy. This prestigious award was created to underscore the vital role of international investments in promoting economic expansion and advancement. It is awarded to outstanding organizations that exhibit leadership, innovation, and dedication to strengthening global trade connections.

In addition to Korean Air Awards and recognitions, several distinguished honors will be presented, highlighting notable contributions across various fields. 
 
The Trusted Trading Partners Awards will shine a spotlight on exemplary collaborations, with a special feature on the 2025 Lucio Caputo Statesman Awardee, Dr. Joseph Scelsa, the esteemed founder and president of the Italian American Museum.
 
 This year's ceremony will also include a formal recognition of Azerbaijan, acknowledging its significant accomplishments and partnership. 
 
In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we will be recognizing Asian consul Generals and multiple Asian consulates.
 

 
As a beacon of economic collaboration, the Gala will throw open its doors to an exclusive gathering that promises to foster high-level engagements and collaborations among foreign governments. This event marks a pivotal moment of interaction with influential figures including Ambassadors, Trade Ministers, and key representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, as well as the NYC International Affairs Commissioner.
 
 
Reserved for leadership partners, this celebration will spotlight both domestic and transnational economic partnerships. Nations from all corners of the globe will convene, incentivizing the forging of new, robust relationships while promoting the U.S.'s commitment to fostering global trade alliances. As part of this initiative, C-level vendors and government leaders will explore avenues to work together, constructing durable bridges between nations and businesses.
 
The awards ceremony will highlight notable achievements in the realm of trade facilitation and security, building on the event's tradition of celebrating excellence. Previous awardees have included distinguished personalities such as Commissioner Troy Miller of U.S. Border and Customs Control, Danielle M. Outlaw, Deputy Chief Security Officer of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and James McCament, Acting Chief Officer of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
