Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce Founder & CEO Duvi Honig Honored to Receive 2026 New Jersey Economic Development Day Proclamation From Governor Mikie Sherrill on Behalf of the State of New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. — The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce announced today that its Founder and CEO, Duvi Honig, was honored to receive the official 2026 New Jersey Economic Development Day Proclamation issued by Governor Mikie Sherrill and the State of New Jersey, formally proclaiming May 11, 2026 as New Jersey Economic Development Day throughout the state.

The proclamation recognizes New Jersey’s commitment to economic growth, innovation, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and small business expansion, while emphasizing the importance of coordinated public-private economic development efforts across the state.

The proclamation specifically outlines that:

The proclamation was signed into law by Phil Murphy and is presented annually to the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce who introduced the legislation recognizes the importance of economic development initiatives that benefit all residents and businesses statewide.

“This recognition belongs to the people of New Jersey — our business owners, workers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, educators, and community leaders who help strengthen our state every single day,” said Duvi Honig, Founder & CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce. “This legislation took tremendous work, advocacy, and effort to push through both houses and ultimately be signed into law. It reflects the understanding that economic development is not only about major corporations or billion-dollar projects — it’s also about empowering everyday people and local communities.”

Honig encouraged residents, organizations, and businesses across New Jersey to actively participate in the spirit and mission behind New Jersey Economic Development Day.

“We encourage every community and every individual to utilize New Jersey Economic Development Day to see how they can help stimulate economic growth and job creation,” Honig said. “Even helping place one person into a job is an accomplishment. There is no need to only think big — we must also think small. Brick by brick, person by person, business by business, we will build a stronger and better New Jersey together.”

Honig added that the initiative reflects a broader vision of unity and collaboration across all sectors of society.

“It’s all about unity,” Honig said. “Economic development succeeds when government, business leaders, nonprofits, faith communities, educators, and residents work together with a shared purpose. When we strengthen one another, we strengthen the future of New Jersey.”

The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce said it plans to continue working closely with state leaders, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and private-sector partners to help expand opportunity, strengthen small businesses, encourage investment, and support workforce and job creation efforts across New Jersey.
