Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce & Greater New York Chamber to Host World Trade Week 2026 Gathering of Consul Generals, Trade Ministers and Global Business Leaders in Manhattan

NEW YORK — The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce and the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce will host a major World Trade Week 2026 gathering on May 20 in Manhattan, bringing together consul generals, trade ministers, ambassadors, senior government officials and business leaders from across the United States and abroad for an evening focused on global commerce, diplomacy and international investment.

The event will also honor Capt. Jonathan Andreichik, New York Commander of the U.S. Coast Guard, for his leadership and commitment to maritime security, humanitarian service and strengthening America’s ports and global trade infrastructure.

Part of New York City’s official World Trade Week NYC 2026 programming, the gathering is expected to draw international delegations, investors, entrepreneurs, trade organizations and civic leaders for discussions and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and expanding cross-border business relationships.

Organizers say the event comes at a pivotal moment for the global economy as businesses continue adapting to supply-chain disruptions, geopolitical tensions, evolving trade policies and increasing international competition.

“This event represents the power of bringing together diplomacy and business under one roof,” said Mark Jaffe, President of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce. “New York remains one of the world’s leading centers for international commerce, and World Trade Week continues to create valuable opportunities for governments, business leaders and investors to build relationships that lead to real economic growth.”

Duvi Honig, Founder and CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, said the event is designed to strengthen international relationships and create meaningful opportunities for businesses during a period when global engagement has become increasingly critical.

“Trade and diplomacy go hand in hand,” Honig said. “When business leaders, government officials and international representatives come together in one room, it creates opportunities that can strengthen economies, open doors for investment and build relationships that benefit communities around the world. Especially during times of global uncertainty, dialogue and partnership matter more than ever.”

The evening’s program will include a trade forum titled “How to Grow Global Trade & Investment Through Diplomacy,” moderated by Howard Teich, Chair of the Greater New York Chamber, and Mark Jaffe. Additional programming will feature trusted trading partner awards, an Asian American Pacific Islanders program moderated by Amit Shah, Co-Chair of the Greater New York Chamber International Trade Committee, and the presentation of the 2026 Lucio Caputo Statesman Award.

Organizers said the event is intended not only as a networking forum, but also as a platform to encourage long-term partnerships between governments, businesses and international institutions at a time when economic diplomacy is playing an increasingly important role in shaping global markets.

The recognition of Capt. Jonathan Andreichik is expected to highlight the growing importance of maritime security and port infrastructure to international trade, supply chains and economic stability. The U.S. Coast Guard plays a central role in protecting commercial shipping lanes, overseeing port security and supporting humanitarian and emergency operations tied directly to global commerce.

Attendees are expected to include leaders from trade missions, foreign governments, chambers of commerce, multinational corporations and economic development organizations from across multiple countries and industries.

New York City has long served as one of the world’s leading centers for international trade and finance, and World Trade Week remains one of the city’s signature annual global business initiatives, bringing together public and private sector leaders to strengthen commercial and diplomatic ties.

The gathering will take place at the historic General Society Library in Times Square from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on May 20, 2026. Organizers noted that pre-registration is required and no walk-ins will be permitted.
