Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce Inaugurates Poland Division with State Breakfast at Polands Department of Commerce in Warsaw

In a significant move to bolster economic ties and address the business needs of Jewish communities globally, the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce has established a new division in Warsaw, Poland. The announcement was marked by a state breakfast hosted by Poland’s Department of Commerce, featuring an esteemed gathering led by Duvi Honig, Founder and CEO of the Wall Street-based Chamber.

The State Breakfast, held in honor of the Duvi Honig and the chamber’s leadership, hosted by Poland's Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development
Michael Baranowski brought together key figures including the Chamber’s Poland Division leadership committee: Rabbi Eliezer Gurary, Chabad Rov of Krakow, Rabbi Shalom Ber Stambler, Rabbi of Chabad Jewish Center in Warsaw, as well as Poland's Deputy Director of Trade, Macie Falkowski, and Marcie Galahad, Regional Manager at the Polish Trade and Investment Agency.

The meeting underscored the substantial investment opportunities presented by the Polish government, emphasizing Poland’s rapid GDP growth and the promising initiatives by US state and federal governments aimed at encouraging Polish businesses to expand into the United States. Duvi Honig advocated for the establishment of operational headquarters in New Jersey, highlighting the state's strategic business environment.

In addition to investment and expansion discussions, the committee addressed significant topics such as exports, kosher food production, and certification processes. With Turkey’s recent closure of its kosher food manufacturing sector to Jewish manufacturers from Israel, Poland’s burgeoning food manufacturing industry is positioned as a potential alternative for kosher production serving Israel, Mexico, and the United States.

The proposal to enhance kosher certification across Poland aims to support Jewish dietary needs, facilitating access to suitable products for Jews residing in or visiting Poland. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to fostering a conducive business ecosystem for Jewish enterprises.

Moreover, the discussions ventured into Poland’s burgeoning technology sector, exploring avenues for exporting advanced technologies to the US and other international markets. The possibility of the Polish Pension Fund investing in US companies, particularly those affiliated with the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, was also deliberated.

This broad-ranging conversation not only highlighted Poland’s readiness to expand its economic footprint but also underscored the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce’s pivotal role in bridging global Jewish business interests with international opportunities. The new Warsaw division is set to play a crucial role in enhancing the Polish Jewish community’s voice and needs, as well as stimulating economic collaboration, fostering innovation, and nurturing the global Jewish business community on international levels.
