The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce held a pivotal meeting with Israel's Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, at the Ministry of Finance headquarters in Jerusalem. The meeting was focused on addressing the unique challenges faced by the Anglo community in Israel, especially concerning the lack of structured programs and services available for Olim (immigrants) provided by Israel's government. The Chamber presented a well-structured plan aimed at establishing a dedicated budget for an Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce Business Center in Jerusalem, a move envisioned to boost job creation, business development, and provide essential social services.
Over the past decade, the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the economic empowerment of the Anglo community in Israel. Through initiatives such as job fairs, startup conferences, expos, C-level meetings, networking events, the US-Israel Business Alliance missions, and comprehensive training courses, the Chamber has been instrumental in creating hundreds of jobs and nurturing numerous businesses within the community.
The overarching vision of the Chamber is to establish business centers across various Jewish communities throughout Israel. This effort is in response to the pressing need for accessible support systems that ensure each breadwinner can find reliable assistance and services, particularly in underserved regions.
We look forward to working closely with Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smortrich, and his team to ensure these challenges are addressed and solutions formulated. This issue has been long overdue, and it is time to correct the oversight," a representative from the Chamber expressed.
This initiative is poised to not only provide immediate relief but also pave the way for long-term solutions that will fortify the economic foundation of the Anglo community in Israel. The collaborative effort marks a significant step forward in reshaping the landscape of support available to this crucial demographic, ensuring they have a stable foundation for Parnassah (livelihood) and beyond.
The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce remains steadfast in its dedication to fostering an environment where all members of the Anglo community have access to the resources needed for personal and professional growth. The collaborative efforts with Israel's Ministry of Finance signify an important milestone in creating a more inclusive and supportive economic environment in Israel.
