YONKERS, N.Y., May 7, 2026 — The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce will partner in a landmark Cinco de Mayo Celebration & Community Leadership Awards Ceremony, marking the launch of a first-of-its-kind Multicultural Business Coalition uniting more than 50 ethnic chambers of commerce across New York.

The event, hosted at Yonkers Brewing Company, will also feature the official launch of the New York State Mexican Chamber of Commerce, bringing together business leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders for an evening focused on unity, networking, and economic collaboration.

The initiative brings together a broad coalition of chambers and organizations, including the Dominican American Chamber of Commerce, Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, Mexican American Chamber of Commerce, Bronx Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, National Supermarket Association, United Bodegas of America, Hispanic Buying Group, and the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, among others — forming one of the most diverse and expansive business alliances in the region.

Together, these organizations represent thousands of businesses across industries and communities, working toward a unified platform to advocate for economic opportunity, expand access to resources, and strengthen the collective voice of minority and immigrant-owned businesses.

The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce’s participation reflects its ongoing mission of building bridges through commerce and fostering relationships across communities.

“We are honored to be part of this — helping create a much-needed coalition that can represent millions of ethnic businesses, all speaking with one voice,” said Duvi Honig, Founder and CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce.

Honig also pointed to the origins of the initiative.

“When we stood on the steps of City Hall alongside leaders from more than 50 ethnic chambers, it marked the beginning of a new era,” he said. “The goal was to build a united voice — one that ensures every community is heard and treated fairly, including in its interactions with city agencies.”

The event will also include the Community Leadership Awards, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated leadership in advancing immigrant communities, strengthening economic participation, and promoting cross-cultural collaboration.

The program begins at 5:30 p.m., featuring networking, food, drinks, and live entertainment, including a Mariachi performance by Reyes Sunshine (Mariachi Reyes). The formal program and awards ceremony will follow.

Participants are expected to include chamber leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, and public officials, reflecting the scale and diversity of the coalition being formed.

Organizers emphasize that the launch marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to build lasting partnerships, expand collaboration, and create long-term economic impact across communities.
