Tasks include: independently handle everything from data entry and payroll to month-end closings and financial statement preparation, freeing business owners to focus on strategy.
Core Responsibilities & Duties: A highly capable full charge bookkeeper to assume total ownership of the back-office, routinely managing:
Accounts Payable & Receivable (A/P & A/R): Managing vendor payments, invoicing, and collections.Payroll Processing: Administering payroll cycles and managing quarterly/annual tax filings.
Reconciliation: Performing bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Generating trial balances, profit & loss (P&L) statements, and balance sheets.
Month-End/Year-End Close: Preparing the books for final CPA review and tax season.
Key Skills & Qualifications: To confidently handle an entire department, a strong candidate should possess a mix of hard and soft skills: Software Proficiency: Advanced mastery of tools like QuickBooks, Experience Level: 5 to 10+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.Education & Credentials: An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting is heavily preferred. Certifications like the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) credential from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) validate high-level expertise.Supervisory Skills: The ability to oversee and review the work of junior accounting clerks.
